I am an engineer and producer.

I spent several years tracking, mixing, and producing projects at Tiny Telephone, an analog recording studio in the Mission district of San Francisco. Now I have a home basement studio here in Portland; it's not fancy, but it gets the job done. Comfortable on 2" tape or Pro Tools. As a producer, I'm firm but flexible; I excel at getting what you're going for, and I'd love to talk to you about it. Credits include matt pond PA and Emily Jane White.

I play the cello.

I've toured nationally and internationally as a cellist matt pond PA, Emily Jane White, and How To Dress Well. I've also served as a studio cellist for projects like John Vanderslice and Valve Software (Left 4 Dead 2 and Team Fortress 2). I've been playing since I was ten, and my cello is named Penelope.

I am an arranger.

I've written orchestral parts for many projects, and I've organized a range of classical folks to get them recorded. I also sing and play guitar, bass, and keys. I'm certain we can come up with something awesome.

I am a songwriter.

I led a large orchestral rock band for several years called The Definite Articles. Now I perform solo as Completions with a cello and a voice, and that's it. I released an EP in 2015, and I'm working on an LP now.
I'll probably assemble a band soon; I miss working with a group.

What are my influences?

My ear largely leans toward sad people with instruments. A list of favorites: The American Analog Set, American Football, Air, Andrew Bird, Cursive, Damien Jurado, David Bazan, Death Cab for Cutie, Grandaddy, Joanna Newsom, Jose Gonzalez, Julie Doiron, Kings of Convenience, Low, Majical Cloudz, Morrissey, Nick Drake, Pinback, The Sea and Cake, Shostakovich, Steely Dan, Stereolab, Sufjan Stevens, The Velvet Teen, Wye Oak, and Yo La Tengo. I got into vinyl about five years ago, and I haven't looked back.
